Ethiopia

Ethiopia lands of origins, a Mysterious and mountainous land in the Horn of Africa split by the Great Rift Valley. Ethiopia is the source of originality, land of the Queen of Sheba, and the guardian of the Ark of the Covenant (Tabot), and a large variety of tribes along the south Omo valley in the south. On many of its thirty-seven islands, Lake Tuna in northern Ethiopia is known for its ancient churches and monasteries. The oldest Stone tools and many important discoveries have put Ethiopia at the forefront of pathology. The most well-known discovery is Lucy, which was discovered in the Awash Valley of Ethiopia’s Afar Region and is one of the most complete and preserved adult fossils in the world.

The country is the site of the Islamic and the oldest Muslim settlement in Africa, at Negash. Ethiopian Jews, known as Bete Israel, also resided in Ethiopia until the 1980s. Ethiopia is a country with a multilingual nation with over 83 ethnolinguistic groups. Ethiopia is a land of natural forests and its numerous rivers, and the world’s hottest settlement of Danakil in its north. Ethiopia is a water tower of Africa; the Ethiopian highlands are the roof of Africa. Ethiopia is Africa’s oldest independent country and it’s second-largest in terms of population. It has a unique cultural heritage, being the home of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church – one of the oldest Christian denominations and a monarchy that ended only in 1974.
