Day 01: Arrival at Bole International Airport

AdefaTours will meet all clients at the Bole international airport regardless of arrival time.

For morning flight arrivals you may begin the city tour, including Holy Trinity Cathedral, National Museum, Ethnographic museum, the Entoto mountain, Piazza St. George church, and Merkato Market.

Day 02: Addis Ababa – Bahar Dar

On this day, Fly to Bahar Dar. Take a boat trip on Lake
Tana, the source of the Blue Nile and you will visit the ancient island monasteries. You will also visit the marketplace in Bahar Dar.

Day 03: Bahir Dar – Gondar

Drive to Gondar visit the Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage site built in the early 17th century. Visit the church of Debre Birhan Selassie, famous for its religious art and especially its iconic ceiling depicting angels.

Day 04: Excursion to the stunning Simien Mountain

Drive to the spectacular Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Home to many endemic animals including the Gelada Boboons
( Guaranteed to be seen). Enjoy an easy hike (2 – 3 hours).
Return to Gondar by evening.

Day 05: Gondar – Lalibela

Fly to Lalibela explore the magnificent rock-hewn churches, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tour the Rock-cut churches, world-class architecture. Lalibela, famous for monolithic rock-cut churches, representation of Jerusalem, arrive at Lalibela and check-in.

Drive to Yemrehanna Kristos, a beautiful church situated in a shallow cave that predates the churches of Lalibela. The drive to Yemrehanna will also give you the opportunity to view the rural countryside and villages of the Ethiopian highlands.

Day 06: Lalibela and surrounding

Take a morning hike with mules to Mount Asheton, visit the rock-hewn monastery, and be blessed with great views. afternoon begin to explore the remarkable 11 rock-hewn churches – Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Mikael, Bet Golgotha, and many more.

Day 07: Lalibela – Axum

Fly to Axum. Tour the ancient stelae fields. Visit the new and impressive Archeological Museum. Visit other tombs, archeological sites, and St. Mary of Zion church, as time permits.

Day 08: Axum – Addis Ababa – Lake Langano

Fly to Addis Ababa and then drive to the Rift Valley Lake Langano. Relax at the Sabana Lodge. Lake Langano is safe for swimming.

Day09: Lake Langano – Arba Minch

Drive to Arba Minch. visit a Dorze Village in the Guge Mountains. The Dorze are known for their tall, elephant-shaped bamboo houses.
Continue to mean destination. Arba Minich
(Forty spring), is homed the two famous lakes, Lake Chamo and Lake Abaya.

Day 10: Arba Minch – Jinka

Take a boat trip on Lake Chamo and view some of the largest crocodiles, Hippopotami, and birdlife. Drive to Jinka. Stop at Key Afar’s weekly market (if on a Thursday) and wander among the various tribes such as the Benna and Ari and more.

Day 11: Mago National Park

Early morning drive to the Mago National Park to visit the Mursi people. The Mursi women are known for the clay plates they insert into their lower lips.
Drive to Turmi to visit the Hamer people who are well known for the unique practice of “bull-jumping” which every young man must accomplish prior to marriage.

Day 12: Omorate

Excursion to Omorate to visit the Dassanech people, known for their elaborate body painting. Cross the famous Omo River by canoe. Return to Turmi.

Day 13: Turmi – Konso

Drive to Konso, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Konso is known for the ancient and intricate terraces that encircle their well-planned villages.

Day 14: Konso – Hawassa

Drive Hawassa via Yrga Alem. the spectator landscape on the way to Yabelo, Hagere Mariam, and Hagere Mariam. En route visit the Tutu Fela stelae. Relax and recover from your journey at one of Hawassa’s fine resorts.

Day 15: Hawassa – Addis Ababa

Visit the Hawassa fish market in the morning.
Drive to Tiya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its mysterious stelae. visit Adadi Mariam, a 12th-century rock-hewn church, and also visit Melka Kunture, a stone-age archeological site.

In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant featuring dancers and musicians representing some of the country’s many ethnic groups. Transfer to airport for departure
